Family Fun : Overview

Experience the pleasures of Sri Lanka’s great culture & heritage, watch wild animals in their natural habitat, enjoy the excitement of soft adventure, and engage in water sports made for the whole family.

A great way to educate your kids about the diversity and raise awareness of different cultures.


Tour Duration – 10 Nights 11 Days

Day 01


On arrival at Colombo International Airport, you will be met by our representative and will be transferred to a hotel in Negombo –  a fishing town just under 30 minute drive from the Airport.

Enjoy the comforts of your hotel and the surroundings to overcome the jetlag after a long flight.

(Option: Based on your arrival time we could avoid the Day 01 and commence the Day 02 program directly.)

Overnight stay in Negombo.

Day 02


Departure Negombo around 07:30am to Sigiriya/Dambulla the cultural centre of Sri Lanka.

En-route visit the PINNAWELLA ELEPHANT ORPHANAGE to see baby jumbos to baby jumbos wondering around their foster home or bottle fed and bathed by their human foster fathers. A place you will really enjoy and never forget.   

Afterwards proceed to Sigiriya via Dambulla visiting the DAMBULLA CAVE TEMPLE. This UNESCO World Heritage Site is the largest and best-preserved cave temple complex in Sri Lanka and is adorned with paintings and sculptures.

Day 03


After breakfast commence your tour by driving to ANCIENT CITY OF POLLONNARUWA.  


Travel to the POLONNARUWA, yet another one of Sri Lanka’s UNESCO World Heritage site. Visit the many ruins scattered across the city including the Royal Citadel, the audience hall, the Vatadage temple, Relic chambers, Kovils and statues carved out of stone.


After lunch drive to either MINNERIYA/KAUDULLA NATIONAL PARK. Your visit to Sri Lanka is not complete without seeing Sri Lankan elephant in the wild to catch a glimpse of the big eared tubby giants. Depending on the period of travel you would be able to witness the largest Asian elephant gathering known to exist on the planet.

Day 04


Experience the laid-back village life in Sri Lanka.

Drive down to Hiriwadunna Village and observe a traditional daily life of a real village folks: Tour includes a Bullock cart ride, Catamaran Boat Ride, visit a Village House, see a local vegetable garden and enjoy a simple traditional lunch prepared by the village women.

Evening drive to Habarana and enjoy an elephant back ride on a tame elephant before returning back to hotel. it will be another great adventure for you kids;

Day 05


After breakfast visit SIGIRIYA ROCK FORTRESS, the gigantic rock, rising up 200 meters (660ft) into the heavens was once a royal palace atop the rock. It is today another UNESCO World Heritage Site. The spectacular Sigiriya (Lion Rock) rock fortress was built in the 5th century AD and it is a wonder of ancient engineering, art and culture.


Afterwards drive to city of KANDY.


Evening visit the TEMPLE OF TOOTH RELIC one of the most sacred places of worship in the Buddhist world. It was declared a world heritage site by UNESCO.


Late evening witness a cultural show. This spontaneous event upheld the Sri Lankan Folk-lore dance which prevailed from the history.


Overnight stay  in Kandy.

Day 06


After breakfast visit the Royal Botanical Gardens Peradeniya renowned for the collection of Orchids (more than 300 varieties of Orchids), spices; medicinal plants and palms trees.

Afterwards proceed to Giragama tea factory. Sri Lanka is synonymous with “Tea” and produces arguably the best in the world. Visit a tea factory where you can follow the leaves from the moment the tea-pluckers bring in their baskets. From here the leaves are withered, rolled, fermented, fired/dried and sorted. In many factories, much of the heavy machinery still dates back to the British period.  An unforgtable experience for you and your kids.

Day 07


After an early breakfast set off to Ella, a perfect setting for many adventure activities provided or a place to chilax and merge with the surrounding nature.


On arrival visit the famous NINE ARCH BRIDGE. The glorious Nine Arch Bridge between Ella and Demodara train station is one of the engineering marvels in the early 20th century. This bridge, which is almost 100 years old, has been built with blocks of stone and cement without any strengthening iron or concrete.

Day 08


Ella Jungle Resort has created the perfect environment for you and your children to bond and spend time together in the pure, goodness of nature. Experience the adventure of the jungle and learn about the trees, the birds, the insects, the animals and the rivers of our natural environment.

Waterfalls, natural pools to have a swim and kickback, the adventure activity to test your confidence levels consist of jungle treks, cross rope climbing or swing ladder, log walk, commando net etc to let your spirit fly.

Ella is internationally popular among bird watchers because there are a variety of endemic species you will surely encounter. So, if you have binoculars or a good camera with zoom be sure to bring them along.

Day 09


After Breakfast proceeds to south western coastal belt for your beach holiday.


On arrival to your beach location Bentota, check-in to your hotel.


Unwind on the beach – Marvel at the raw beauty of Sri Lanka’s coast and spending the day carefree.


Bentota offers travellers a whole host of water sports from snorkeling and scuba diving, to water skiing and surfing – the choice is yours.

Day 10


After breakfast enjoy the sun and sand or engage in water sports. The Bentota beach offer countless ways to enjoy your beach stay as a family.

In the evening visit the Turtle Care Centre at Kosgoda beach established in 1988 to protect Sri Lanka’s turtles from extinction. Here you will get to see one, two and three day old turtles ready for release in the sea at night.

Day 11


After breakfast relax and enjoy the comforts of the hotel.


Your guide will meet you on time at the lobby to drive you to the Colombo International Airport for your departing flight home.
